If you want healthy, strong, and beautiful nails that last a long time, you shouldn't stop dieting. By making a few small changes to your life, you can enjoy beautiful nails without the hefty price tag that comes with going to a nail salon. Avoid biting your nails, polish any rough edges if necessary, and make a few other small changes to get the perfect nails you've always wanted.

Follow these simple tips to get great nails.
Consume foods containing calcium and zinc. Calcium effectively promotes nail growth. (You know those little white spots that sometimes appear on your nails in odd places? These spots mean you're not getting enough zinc in your diet.) Reduce your intake of sugar and alcohol. Do not use nails as tools. Don't pinch, pull, poke, or pry... Don't bite your nails. Apply nail polish or apply a bitter-tasting liquid to your nails. Such products are specifically designed to help people stop the habit of biting their nails. Do not remove hangnails by pulling. Carefully cut with nail polish scissors to avoid damaging the skin or tissue. Reduce your intake of saturated fat. Make sure you get enough protein.  Take vitamins A, B, C, D, and E regularly and increase the intake. Keep your nails short to prevent them from splitting. Leave the cuticle alone. Moisturize your nails frequently. If you are applying it to your hands or feet, be sure to massage it into your nails a little as well. Reduce the amount of dairy products in your diet. Trim your nails regularly if necessary. After trimming or if your nails break, use an emery board or nail file to smooth out any rough edges. If you want beautiful, healthy nails, you may not have to pay for a trip to the salon. Eat healthier, adopt better habits, and get beautiful nail polish for your at-home manicure.
